🛂 What changed in Thailand and Egypt?

A suitcase, closed passport and travel documents beside an airport window

Since 15 September 2026, citizens of Uzbekistan need a visa arranged in advance to visit Thailand. Visa-free entry and visas on arrival have been withdrawn

New entry conditions for Egypt have been announced for 1 November 2026. According to the embassy statement reported by UzDaily, visitors will need a visa in advance and an authorised tour operator. Under-40s must travel with close relatives and carry $5,000 in cash per family; independent travellers over 40 must carry $3,000

Here are six alternatives for ordinary Uzbek passport holders. Our comparison assumes 7 nights in June 2027: a return flight from Tashkent and a double room in a 4* hotel

Prices are estimates; food and excursions cost extra. Check prices and entry conditions again before booking

🦁 Kenya: at last, someone takes an interest in you

A lion in Nairobi National Park, with a safari vehicle and the city in the distance

Nairobi has a national park where lions roam against a big-city skyline. Breakfast at your hotel, then a meeting with someone already considering their lunch options

Take a safari vehicle with a guide. Save the plan to stretch your legs by running from a lion for the family group chat. Cardio is all very well, but you have already paid for the return flight

Return flight from Tashkent≈ $1 000–1 400 per person; currently 1 connection, for example in Dubai
4* room≈ $130–200 per night for two
With an Uzbek passportvisa-free; approved eTA required in advance

🐒 Malaysia: the bag inspection continues after the airport

Macaques inspecting a baffled tourist’s bag beside the colourful Batu Caves staircase

The macaques at Batu Caves do not care how much your holiday cost. If there is a banana sticking out of your bag, you have brought them a banana. Negotiation is unlikely to help: you probably have different ideas about private property

People come from Kuala Lumpur to see the caves and temple. There are 272 steps to the top, where you can disguise your recovery time as a long, thoughtful appreciation of the view. Put your snacks away: these macaques could teach a hungry Tashkent cat a thing or two

Allow part of the day for a visit, then head back to the city for the evening

Return flight from Tashkent≈ $600–1 000 per person; currently non-stop to Kuala Lumpur
4* room≈ $70–130 per night for two
With an Uzbek passportvisa-free for up to 30 days; complete MDAC before arrival

🐎 Mongolia: tomorrow, you may prefer to stand

A novice rider cautiously attempting to sit down while a calm horse stands nearby

After a year in an office chair, you want wide-open space. In Terelj, outside Ulaanbaatar, you can get on a horse and ride out to see the steppe

In the photos, you will look wonderfully free. The next day, you will be a person lowering themselves very carefully onto a chair

For a first attempt, a short ride with an instructor is plenty: nobody signed you up for a multi-day expedition. Make it a day trip from the city or stay overnight in a ger

Return flight from Tashkent≈ $850–1 200 per person; currently 1 connection, for example in Almaty
4* room≈ $90–140 per night for two
With an Uzbek passportvisa-free for up to 30 days

🐟 The Philippines: escape the crowds… for another crowd

A snorkeller caught in the underwater rush hour of a dense sardine shoal

At Moalboal on Cebu, enormous shoals of sardines swim alongside visitors in snorkelling masks. You flew away from the crowds, paid to go snorkelling and ended up in rush hour again. At least nobody is asking whether you are getting off at the next stop

Nobody can promise a full week of sunshine in June: the Philippines is entering its rainy season, and boat trips may be rescheduled. Build in some time for coffee and checking the forecast

Return flight from Tashkent≈ $1 000–1 400 per person; currently 1–2 connections to Cebu
4* room≈ $80–130 per night for two
With an Uzbek passportvisa-free for up to 30 days; eTravel and an onward ticket required

🐼 China: envy the panda, then cry into your dinner

A tired tourist looking enviously at a reclining panda

The panda lies down and eats. You stand up and take photos. Someone brought it bamboo; you paid to get in. Spend a morning at the giant panda centre in Chengdu and you may start reconsidering your career choices

For dinner, try Sichuan hotpot: cook meat and vegetables in bubbling broth at your table. You do not have to order the hottest version just because you eat chillies at home. If your friends feel heroic, get a divided pot with two broths and sit quietly beside your mild half

Return flight from Tashkent≈ $500–800 per person; currently non-stop to Chengdu
4* room≈ $60–100 per night for two
With an Uzbek passportvisa-free for up to 30 days per visit, no more than 90 in any 180 days

🐢 Seychelles: finally, you can just lie down. Expensively

A tourist inspecting an empty wallet beside a relaxed giant tortoise

No more running. On Mahé, lie on Beau Vallon beach, then visit the giant tortoises at the botanical garden when you get restless. Next to them, even the walk from your sunlounger to lunch counts as an active holiday

The main predator here is the hotel price. Look it up before promising someone a romantic week by the ocean. June brings the south-east trade winds, so choose your beach with the season in mind: the sea can be rough

Return flight from Tashkent≈ $1 000–1 500 per person; currently 1 connection, for example in Dubai
4* room≈ $200–320 per night for two
With an Uzbek passportvisa-free; travel authorisation required in advance

🧡 So, who are we taking?

A ginger cat settled into an open suitcase among the holiday clothes

Send this to the person you have been planning a holiday with for ages. Let them choose: the ocean, the pandas, or a little more time to think

Tell us in the comments where you would go. Suggest somewhere else, too. Perhaps we were a bit hasty starting with lions

How we estimated the costs

We compare 7 nights in June 2027: an economy return flight from Tashkent per person and a double room in a 4* hotel per night

These are editorial planning estimates based on public offers, not live bookings for one particular week in June. Some flight checks use other dates; hotel prices are current benchmarks. Food, insurance, transfers, excursions, baggage, permits and any hotel taxes cost extra

Connections are counted one way, using existing routes. Check the summer 2027 timetable and your chosen fare before booking. A non-stop route does not necessarily mean that the lowest price in the range buys a non-stop ticket

Our hotel benchmarks are Nairobi, Kuala Lumpur, Ulaanbaatar, Cebu City, Chengdu and Mahé. Safaris, travel to Terelj, a night in a ger and the journey from Cebu City to Moalboal are not included in the room rate

A few visa and budget questions

Do Uzbek citizens need a visa for Thailand?

Yes. Since 15 September 2026, a visa must be arranged in advance. Visa-free entry and visas on arrival have been withdrawn

What are Egypt’s new entry rules for Uzbek citizens?

New conditions have been announced for 1 November 2026: an advance visa, an authorised tour operator, and age-dependent requirements for accompanying relatives and cash. The article attributes these details to the embassy statement reported by UzDaily

Where can Uzbek passport holders travel without a visa?

This article covers Kenya, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, China and Seychelles. Visa-free does not mean paperwork-free: Kenya and Seychelles require advance electronic authorisation, and some destinations require arrival forms

How much might a week away from Tashkent cost?

For June 2027, our Chengdu estimates are $500–800 per person for return flights and $60–100 per night for a double room in a 4* hotel. For Mahé, allow $1,000–1,500 for flights and $200–320 for the room. These are planning estimates, not package prices. Add other expenses and check your dates separately
