It began with water alerts
Tazik started as a bot about water cuts in Tashkent. Save your address, get a warning and fill your basins before the taps run dry. That is where the name comes from: tazik means a small basin.
Then came city stories, morning digests and ideas for the weekend. Once Tazik covered more than water cuts, we added News to the name. Saved addresses and water alerts stayed.
What Tazik News is today
We are a small, experimental publication about Tashkent. We explain decisions that affect the city, check events and write detailed guides: where to take an old sofa, how to plant a courtyard tree or what to do with a kitten you have found.
The project keeps changing and growing. Your feedback has already helped us rebuild the app, add reply threads and make the profile easier to use.
And what are the cats doing here?!
Every reader has a cat. It follows you around the app and represents you in the comments, so you can give it a personality: dress it up, change its background and make it your own.
You earn Taziks for reading and for friends who join through your personal link. New levels unlock clothes and other items, with treats from partners planned for the future.
In the app, you can browse your collection, try new things on your cat and discuss articles. You can also read stories as cards right inside the bot.
Stick around
Turn on notifications for the bot in Telegram so you hear about new stories and replies to your comments.
Tell us in the comments below what you would like: a topic to explore, something to add to the app, or a feature that could work better.
Enjoy reading 🧡
And here are five Taziks for getting to know us. Go ahead and collect them!
